I'm surprised they would put them in the same doc, to totally different cars ..one Grand Touring and one pure Sports Car

I wish the RX-7 had a V6 and a little longer wheelbase , One of the best looking of the 90's cars. But a rebuild every 80k likely steered some potential customers away.

Driving one I found the short wheelbase kicked too easily on tight corners, scary and unpredictable around Copenhagen RD. I think the older ones and the RX-8 might be easier to drive hard in the twistiest.

If the 3KGT was lighter it'd be even better.. and if the RX7 had a normal engine instead of some doritos on a stick it'd also be better..

But as it sits now, I'd rather have the 3k - more uncommon.. even if the rx7 has a sleeker look they just don't do it for me unless they're slammed to the ground - which pretty much destroys their ability to be daily driven..

Thats one of the reasons I didn't buy a VR-4

I bought mine over a VR-4 because the TT is a whale at 3750lbs ( 3075lbs for mine) And after 20 years the TT would require more than the car is worth to replace all of the failing items.

I do like the idea of a SR20 swap for the RX-7 ..

Sorry Mike

lol

No , too heavy , RX7's are a shit box compared to a Supra.

I seen an article on the 350z and a Supra where they preferred the 4cyl swap for better balance , and they 3-400lbs heavier cars than the FD

I couldn't imagine a LS1 in a FD (I know its been done) .. you could probably lift the rear end by hand.. lol

I think the LS1 is actually lighter than the 13B-REW if I'm not mistaken. Am I right Mike?

lol sorry i dont have a comp on the weekends...

The 2JZ swap has been done to either model FC and FD, but they are a big boat anchor due to them being an inline model. They sit way forward of the front tires so they throw weight distribution off. The LS1 is actually lighter by about 65lbs then the stock turbo rotary and they sit further behind the front tires then the rotarys therefore balancing out the 50/50 weight distribution and making them a very reliable daily driver. THis is why these cars are worth 25-35K when they swap in the ls1 and a 6spd.

I like either model 3000GT and RX7. I think the rx7 has a nicer look but obviously not a fan of the stock motors. I think the 3000GT would be an amazing car if it was rwd, although im sure if you wanted a corner car fwd is obviously a better choice. I'm an awd/rwd kinda guy so..just my opinion.\

This is why ppl build the FD ls1's

Jesus christ wheres toretto???
